Well it went better than even I was hoping for landing 5 Barbel all over 2lb with the best one at 3lb!

For the first hour it was really looking like it was going to be a really hard evening session but once I landed a night couple of pound F1 carp it started to look like the fish had started to feed with Dave landing an even bigger F1 then the Barbel started to feed and it was all go!

Dave lost a really nice mirror carp that spit the hook right at the point of the net, I lost what must have been a really nice fish that snapped 8lb line without even trying!

The months seem to be flying, which @ points is good but then not so good due to old age!

So what is new in the world of KD.

Sweb is doing very well, loads of work on and enjoying it overall …

Mark Deveney went bankrupt which was on the cards really and the only way out for the muppet. It is amazing how he got away with as much blagging as he did, how he could call himself a web designer (which is claimed in his bankrupt paperwork) is a joke, no he is the joke! All things come to those who wait!

But no point dwelling on the past!

Weather is getting better which means fishing gear will be coming out. A trip to Broom is been talked about for a couple of days + with the water we looked at today, we might also be picking up a new club book.

New years eve. Fireworks and making merry at little England. Did not really drink that much due to really not been in the mood … But that is not to say everyone else held back … Fireworks in the garden and drunk people singing songs! We all then moved inside for no more fireworks but loads more singing … None of the singers should give up their days jobs that is for sure … Jobs included: Banker, Policeman, Mobile IT Tech dude, Tescos Manager, 2x Car runnings and a women who works in a garage… No Alison it is a garage! Forgot the posh job description *Wink*

No fishing … All the lochs could only be used for skating … But did bring my gear back with me to hopefully get some river aire piking in with Wayne …

Food was amazing … Once again Dave excelled in the cooking dept …

We only left the bunker twice both times for cigs and bread and nibbling supplies …

Darts Darts Darts …. Didn’t the Aussie do well !!! Shame he was not up this time for taking on the Power Tailer… Next year!!! Dave could have lost a £5.00 if the online betting website would have worked! So nothing lost or gained is good gambling in my view …

Thank you to Mr & Mrs H for been such good company … And Mick for showing me inside what is the darkside! I am even going to refrain from saying anything about you know what … All I will say is long live PC!

Past – Meeting up with an old X girlfriend of Mine Zoe … And when I say old X girlfriend I am talking 23 years ago! 

It has been really good catching up with her and all the goings on in her life and it is nice to know she is still as mad as she always really was back when we were both young.. She has grown up just a little as I am sure you can see by the photo over there >

If things go ok it also looks like there might be a future project with Kirsten who is Zoe’s daughter. But will go into that a little more in the future .. Will have to see what pans out really …

Present – Well the BCAA meeting at Bradford on Wed night went a lot better then both me and Wayne expected and we managed to come away from the meeting with some good ideas of what can be done to help Jim & Mike push things into the future that makes more sense on a business level… Finally meeting the Committee was also interesting .. but once again in a good way!

Big Ben was stabbed in the leg by a fisherman at Addingham … Once I found out he was ok I could not help myself really lol about it .. The idea what someone stabbed Ben and got away unharmed was funny but then it turnout to be a fisherman … He is ok as far as I can tell, just his pride that was hurt due to the fact that he could not kick the fishermans head in due to having his ill father with him (Ben’s father… not the fishermans!) Police are still looking into the whole thing so let the boys in suits deal with first … Will be interesting if Ben finds out who the fisherman was and where he lives!

Future – It is looking good really … loads of projects in the planning stages … New WYRCC website going live today .. well maybe tomorrow now!

Going back up to Amisfield at the end of this month to do some fishing with Dave and spend time with Anne and the kids … The plan is to have a bit of a chill out before the madness that is November starts ..

“What we doing for Christmas?” is one of the questions I have been asking for a while now and people just keep saying “Shut up, we not there yet?” Well people … We are nearly there now and I want a plan in place to make it nice and chilled this year!

Cash Money is my top fav DJ of all time and I have been lucky enough to meet him a few times at various gigs over the years.

But the issue with all the wordpress ones I have played with is that everytime a link is clicked the music stops … Making my idea of me adding tracks that I like to a play list to play on here pointless so I kind of dropped the idea a week or so ago! But today while having a surf round some of the sites I check from time to time I clicked on a link to this website > here < and really liked the way the player was at the bottom of the screen! So taking a short time out this afternoon I set to work adding a flash music player that was really fast loading to work on a test page and although if you are viewing here via the blablabla/site/ address you will not here any music now or in the future. The plan is to add a front page to mrkd.co.uk with the opntion to click on 1 of 2 links … 1 will be “Music On” and the other “Music Off”. I am sure you will get the idea once I have put the plan into practice … Although some of you might not like my taste in music? But to each their own, hence the “Music On” – “Music Off” links … I want it for one main reason … When I have my head into something I can never find an album or music that I want to listen to … So my plan is to add a play list with songs I do like and then have the “music on” site open and playing … That way saving me looking for anything to listen to!

I still have 100’s of photos to add and the whole gallery structure will probably change at some point. But until them take a look at the photos in the gallery and I am always interested in feedback?

Moonrakers – For you people who do not know what Moonrakers is or are here is a outline – Cowling Local History Group are called Moonrakers of which I am one of the founding members, the group has been going since 2003 and has collected and gained many things to do with the history of Cowling and the Parish of Cowling

Moonrakers chairman Mark Barnes approach me at the end of August and asked if I could re-build their website. I have been hosting their website since 2005 and they wanted more control over updating it themselves. With me been totally bonkers about the Wordpress platform I jumped at the chance to set one up for them to replace the old website. It was also a way of me testing how none-techheads could take on the idea but more helpful to me take over the updating of a website. Well it went very well, even more well than I expected! And within the next couple of weeks I am hoping that a few of the Moonraker members along with Mark Barnes will be adding their own content to their own update-able wordpress site. Also Wednesday I had a meeting with Mr Smith headteacher of Cowling School about the school website and that is also getting a Wordpress facelift in the near future .. It is all go with Wordpress!

WYRC will be the next project that I am going to re-do with the Wordpress platform. Although teaching Mark Barnes was easy, some how I see teaching my father a real up hill task! But I must say he rings me less and less these days with simple questions that even Google could answer for him even without doing a search! WYRC > Website <

BCAA message board started to get people posting last week which is good from my point of view but the committee might see it another way if people just complain about various parts of the website + club waters .. But we will have to wait and see … I am planning to attend the AGM at the end of this month, mainly to meet the people who I have been dealing with via email and telephone calls … I am sure I will report back on here what my thought were on that meeting so more later about that… ! And fishing! Yesterday I had a good full day part spent with Wayne fishing the River Aire … But sadly the final score at the end of the day was Mark & Wayne nothing and the pike had the last laugh of the day with all the free dead bait chucked in when we finished fishing.  I only took a couple of photos due to the lack of pike to take photos of but I am hoping I got a couple of a nice spot on the river that I do plan to revisit in the future due to the fact it looked perfect for a pike ambush spot. The river was running a little fast but overall was clear but still no fish! Still was a cracking day by the river and as any sports person will tell you “It is the taking part that counts!”

I have to still plug the gallery in to this and also upload photo, so a bit at a time the photos will start to arrive on the site.

When the Talkins Over – FOS Brothers

He tells the bank officer he is going to Australia on business for two weeks & needs to borrow £5,000.

The bank officer tells him that the bank will need some form of security for the loan, so the Yorkshire lad hands over the keys and documents of new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produces the Log Book & everything checks out.

The loan officer agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan.

The bank manager & its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the rough-looking Yorkshireman for using a £120,000 Ferrari as collateral against a £5000 loan.

The bank manager then instructs an employee of the bank to drive the Ferrari into the bank’s underground garage, where he parks it..

Two weeks later, the man returns, repays the £5,000 & the interest of £15.41.

The bank officer says to the Yorkshireman, “Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, & this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled….

While you were away, we checked you out further & found that you are a multi-millionaire.

What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow “£5,000″?

The Yorkshireman replies: “Where else in Leeds can I park my car for two weeks for only £15.41 & expect it to be there when I return”

Then, this big trouble-making truck driver steps next to him, takes the drink from the guy, and just drinks it all down. The poor man starts crying. The truck driver says, “Come on man, I was just joking. Here, I’ll buy you another drink. I just can’t stand to see a man cry.”

“No, it’s not that. This day is the worst of my life. First, I fall asleep, and I go late to my office. My boss, outrageous, fires me. When I leave the building, to my car, I found out it was stolen. The police said that they can do nothing. I get a cab to return home, and when I leave it, I remember I left my wallet and credit cards there. The cab driver just drives away.”

“I go home, and when I get there, I find my wife in bed with the gardener. I leave home, and come to this bar. And just when I was thinking about putting an end to my life, you show up and drink my poison.”

But from time to time something I do find entertaining does arrive! This below is one of those times.

Anyway … Scotland was really good and was the perfect place to spend my 40th birthday …

Even if all I did on the day was go shopping at Aldi & Morrison’s!

The presents and money were gratefully received.  Not forgetting the birthday cake Georgia made for me!

I wish I could say I had spent all the money on drugs, sex and rock & roll but as everyone who knows me knows that rock & roll really is not my scene! It did come in handy for adding to my already oversized wardrobe, new additions include loads of t-shirts, a very cool hat, hoody and coat and not forgetting the new pairs of socks! It is not a birthday is it without new socks – Even if I did have to buy them myself!

Anne left what to get me 100% in the hands of Dave and after I had a good moan about a couple of reels that I bought that I am not happy with on Sunday! It was really nice on Monday to find a Abu Garcia Cardinal 105 reel in its own really cool reel case was the present he had picked! Not only that but I also caught a nice mirror carp on Tuesday using the new reel and it really is a dream to use! He also included in the reel box loads of hair rigs and a couple of method feeders and mould and loads of boilie stops!

Other cool presents include a Banksy – Walls & Peice book from my outlaws, jeans & t-shirt from the wife and my new metal clipper lighter!
A bonus new watch from Dave was and still is very cool… Even though it cost me £3.00 for a battery for it (It is a Sony battery though so that made me feel better about paying £3.00 for it)

I never did go to see about getting the tattoo done on my arm, the appeal really has worn off on that score.

Chucking balls for Darna the mad Lab & Talking “dog talk” to cassie made up for the lack of intelligent conversation from Anne while staying at Amisfield. But her taking me on a “Anne – lets nip to Tesco’s shopping mission” was even though I do say it myself was a very enjoyable 3 hours and 26 minutes outing – Boy that women can shop!!! And from now until the day I die  I am sure I will never know why one person needs to buy so many rugs! Anne really is the only person I have ever met that if you can not find it anywhere! She can and cheaper than you wanted to pay! She knows every place where the bargains of the year are located from Hot Deals website to knickers and bra’s in the Marks & Spencer outlet! Lesson from us all from Anne = NEVER pay full price! It will be cheaper somewhere! BUT only Anne knows where to look ! And boy does she look! But she did make me at least 1 brew and even poured me a run & coke even if it was in a tiny kid style glass. But joking aside,  it was nice spending time looking at the back of Anne computer chair while she hunted or reserved things online. But she never did find out what the shop was called before Brantano!

Dave not wanting to fish the local Lochs anymore due to him now been a total commercial fisherman was not a bad thing after all and we had 2 out of 3 cracking days at Broom Fisheries with Dave teaching me new tactics using hair-rings and chopped spam! God bless “Improve Your Coarse Fishing ” Magazine and adding icing sugar & spices really do work but I would not recommend trying jelly babies! Strawberry & Vanilla boilies at £2.99 a bag from Aldi also did the job. A personal best Bream was and still is the highlight of the days at Broom but it was good fun playing the Mirror & Common carp!

Meeting Allison & John (John is Anne’s brother and Allison is Johns wife) was really nice even if Allison is Welsh! OK I know she can not help where she was born but by now you would have thought she might not be trying so hard to sound like an extra from Ivor the engine (Click Here For Details). Did you know that Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is the longest place name in the United Kingdom, not only that did you know that it translates as “The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio’s of the red cave”.

So all in all the break was very nice and the weather for most of it was very good. Fishing was done and a very chilled out time had by all. There are no plans to head back up as yet but I am sure Anne will miss me so much an invite will is sure to arrive in the very near future. Or you never know she might not invite me and then be pissed off with Dave cos he has!
A big thank you to all for putting up with my charm and wonderful company … I know Anne will miss my constant put downs and Darna the ball chucking. I have only been back a few hours and I am already missing the place … But as the saying goes “All good things have to come to an end”.

But before I end this post … The last word goes out to my fishing buddy = It might be best to let your dad catch a ghost carp first! You know what he is like when he is in a mood !!!

Ok so I have been playing around with wordpress for a couple of days now and at points it has really done my head in … But slowly (very) I am getting my head round it …

The backend dashboard is really cool and full of tabs to do this and that … A lot of time spending going “when did I see that” & “I know that is here somewhere” …

I am hoping to get Wayne & Dave posting here in the future … fingers crossed?
